Everyone’s favorite cottontail will be making his way from table to table to say hello to all the boys and girls. Be sure to bring your camera to capture all the memories.

Seatings are available from 8:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Tickets are only $6 per person and can be purchased online here or at the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive. Advance purchase  is required. Tickets are non-refundable after March 11.

Kennesaw Grand Prix Launch Party @ Big Peach Running Co. Kennesaw

A launch party to kick off the 2017 Kennesaw Grand Prix 5K Race Series will be held Tuesday, April 11, from 5 – 7:00 pm at Big Peach Running Co. Kennesaw, 1625 Ridenour Blvd. The evening will include a group run at 6:30 pm with 1 – 5 mile options (all levels welcome). Race directors from all six races will be on-site to process your registration and answer race questions. Register for all six races in the Kennesaw Grand Prix Series and receive a discount of one series race free (at this event only). Registrants can earn a golden ticket for the raffle to win a rebate of series registration fees.

The festive atmosphere will include music, food, and raffles. Take advantage of Big Peach Running Co. Kennesaw special discounts of 20% off apparel, 15% off shoes, and 10% off accessories.

This year’s Grand Prix series races are as follows: Swift-Cantrell Classic 5K on May 13; Dream Dash 5K on June 17; Sports Fanatics 5K on July 8; Hero Run 5K on August 5; Great Locomotive Chase 5K on September 30; and Garden Gallop 5K on October 28.

Big Shanty Festival @ Depot Park

The 41st annual Superior Plumbing/Big Shanty Festival returns to downtown Kennesaw April 22-23. The family-friendly festival, co-sponsored by the City of Kennesaw and the Kennesaw Business Association (KBA), is one of the largest arts and crafts shows in northern Georgia, offering more than 200 booths of crafters and artisans as well as live entertainment on several stages, children’s activities and more than 40 food options. A parade down Main Street opens the festival on Saturday at 9:30 am featuring local high school bands, colorful floats and over 2,000 young marchers.

Among the other attractions will be a Civil War encampment in Depot Park; a Kids’ Zone with inflatables; Kristen Johnson, aka Lady Houdini, an escape artist who has successfully performed thousands of public feats and broken Harry Houdini’s record for the most water escapes ever; K-9s in Flight, a non-stop, action-packed performance showcasing K-9 dock diving, high jump and Frisbee; Walking TreeMan, over 12-feet tall and barely distinguishable from the real trees, strolling through the festival; and performances by local dance and demonstration teams and school choruses.

During the festival, roads in downtown Kennesaw will be closed beginning at 6 pm on Friday, April 21 and will reopen at 8 pm Sunday. A list of the closures can be found at kennesaw-ga.gov. The festival hours are Saturday, April 22 from 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday, April 23 from 12 – 5 pm.

Admission to the festival is free. Parking downtown will be limited by the road construction in progress around City Hall. Parking is available at Adams Park; shuttle busses will run from Swift-Cantrell Park and from Kennesaw Crossing Shopping Center (Cobb Parkway at North Roberts Road) to the event.
