The City of Kennesaw operates under a Mayor and City Council, with a City Manager form of government. The Mayor and five Council positions are elected at large for staggered four year terms. The Mayor and Council are part-time officials. A full-time City Manager serves at the pleasure of the Mayor & Council and is responsible for the day-to-day city operations.

When does the Council meet?
The Mayor and City Council meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Council/Court Chambers at the back of City Hall. Agenda worksession meetings are held on the Wednesday prior to the Monday night Council meeting at 6 pm in the Court Chambers.
