Tim Killingsworth is originally from Denton, Texas. The son of a Southern Baptist Minister of Music, Tim attended high school in Birmingham, Alabama. He worked briefly for the Coca Cola Company, then left to pursue a career in the US Marine Corps. After 12 ½ yrs in the Corps as an aviation mechanic & aircrew member, he was medically retired. He has lived in Kennesaw since 1996.

Tim’s civic involvement began with service as the chairman of the license review board. He was elected to the Council in 2007.

Tim and his wife Lynne have two daughters, Joy and Amy. His favorite pastimes are golf, fishing, singing and spending quiet time with friends.

Tim finds great reward in making a positive impact for the citizens of Kennesaw. As a former Marine, he is especially proud to have brought the Silent Drill Platoon to the Big Shanty Festival for the past two years.

His personal philosophy comes straight from Jesus’ words in the New Testament: “I have told you these things so that in me, you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Liaison to Smith-Gilbert Gardens and Public Works Departments.
