Grand Prix 5K Series Concludes with the Garden Gallop

The sixth event in the Kennesaw Grand Prix Series, the Garden Gallop 5K, will take place on Saturday, October 28 in downtown Kennesaw. Included are a one-mile fun run for children starting at 7:30 am with the 5K race beginning at 8 am. Proceeds from the race benefit Smith-Gilbert Gardens Foundation, which supports educational programs and the conservation of the live plant collection at Smith-Gilbert Gardens. Participants are encouraged to come in Halloween costumes; awards will be given for best individual and team costume. All runners enjoy free admission to the Gardens on Race Day from 9 am – to 4 pm with race bib.

The race follows a fast, mostly flat route through historic downtown Kennesaw and Swift-Cantrell Park and is fun for beginners and accomplished runners and walkers alike. The route is a USA Track and Field Certified course and the race is electronically timed for fast, accurate results. Traffic control is coordinated by local law enforcement. Race Day refreshments are provided for all participants.

Registration is open now at active.com. All registered 5K participants will receive an official race shirt, runner/walker number and goodie bag. Registration is also available at the Kennesaw Big Peach Running Company location. Early packet pickup and late registration will be held at Big Peach Running Company on October 26-27 from 4 – 8 pm.  Same-day registration and packet pickup at Kennesaw First Baptist Church opens at 6:30 am.
