Along with the regular household garbage, we will also pick up mattresses, sofas, TV’s, microwaves, and dishwashers for an additional fee. Call Public Works for fees and scheduling.
WE WILL NOT PICK UP TIRES, ROOFING MATERIAL, CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS, USED OIL, TRANSMISSION FLUID, DIRT, ROCKS, CEMENT, CONCRETE, OR PAINT.
HOWEVER, PAINT CANS, OIL AND TRANSMISSION FLUID CONTAINERS CAN BE PICKED UP IF THEY ARE SITTING BESIDE YOUR TRASHCAN, CLEAN AND EMPTY WITH NO CAPS OR LIDS.
Most residential areas have a 95-gallon trash can provided by the City, and all garbage MUST be in bags in the can in order to be picked up. In these areas, the only can that will be picked up is the 95-gallon City can. If the can is removed, lost or damaged by the homeowner / customer, there is a $100 charge to the homeowner / customer at the time of removal, loss, or damage. These cans MUST remain at the house when you move, even if you move within the City limits, as they are assigned by a serial number to the address, not the resident. If the can is not left at the address when you move, you will be charged the $100 on your final bill. If your subdivision is not provided the city can, you may put out two 45 gallon cans for pickup.
CURBSIDE RECYCLING
Once a week curbside recycling is provided by the City of Kennesaw. If your pick up day falls on a holiday, the route will not be picked up that week, but will be picked up the following week on your regular scheduled day. This is a service that is encouraged and provided at no extra charge to the customer. Bins MUST be placed on the curb before 7 A.M. the day of collection. The City will deliver a recycle bin to the house. The bin MUST remain at the house when you move, or you will be charged $20 for the bin.
BAGGED YARD DEBRIS AND SMALL HEDGE TRIMMINGS
Bagged yard debris and trimmings are picked up every Monday for recycling. This includes leaves, grass clippings, pinestraw, and small hedge trimmings. These trimmings MUST be in lawn refuse bags, (we encourage you to use the brown paper bags which are recyclable and can be dumped with the lawn debris) which are not to exceed 32-gallons or 50 pounds and placed on the curb before 7:00 A.M. for pick up. There is a limit of 15 bags per pickup. Do not put loose lawn debris in trashcans or any other container – it will not be emptied!
WE WILL NOT PICK UP DIRT, ROCKS, CEMENT, OR CONCRETE
