Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) Certified BBQ Judging Class


The City of Kennesaw will be hosting a Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) Certified BBQ Judging Class on Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 10:30am to 3:30pm at the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive, Kennesaw, GA 30144. The class will be taught by Ron Harwell and Harvey Hamrick, KCBS Master Certified Judges, Certified Judge Instructors and Competition Representatives. Upon completion of the class, participants will be certified KCBS Judges with all rights and privileges, and be qualified to judge any KCBS BBQ Competition.

As of January 11, this Judging Class is FULL. Entry forms are no longer being accepted.

On Friday and Saturday, August 14-15, delicious smoke-cooked barbequed meats, tasty desserts, family fun and live entertainment will take center stage during the City of Kennesaw's annual Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival.

Kansas City Barbeque SocietyThe event features a non-sanctioned Backyard BBQ, Anything Butt and Peach Dessert Contest, as well as a 
Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned Professional Contest, which is recognized as a Georgia State Championship Barbeque Cookoff. Over $14,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to contest winners. Besides food for sale, and free music from a number of local and national acts, festival goers will be treated to a large Kid Zone, unique vendor booths and sponsor exhibits.

Bands from Atlanta have come and gone, but this seasoned singing group of musicians is first class entertainment. Their vast song list spans every era and is performed with world-class musicianship.


All concerts will be located in front of the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive.

Reserve a table directly in front of the performance area for only $50 per table (per night). Each six-foot table seats six persons. Chairs are included.

 Guitar Hero Tournament The tournament will begin on Friday at 4:30 p.m. with a round of single elimination. Songs will be selected randomly from a pre-selected list with medium difficulty. One winner will be left standing. Saturday's competition will begin at 10:00 a.m. The winner of of each's day's competition will meet on Saturday afternoon for a final show down.
 KenneSong Join us for a chance to receive studio time and an opportunity for a management contract with music professionals in the Atlanta market. Each 30 second audition will take place in a makeshift recording studio in front of a panel of judges via tele-conference live feed. Auditions begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
 World Record Dodgeball Game & Tournament Be a part of history! On Friday at 5:00 p.m. the City of Kennesaw and Kennesaw State University will host an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest game of dodgeball ever played. Also on Friday, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the City of Kennesaw and Kennesaw State University will host a traditional 6-on-6 dodgeball tournament.
