Tara Marie Drummond was born in Abilene, Texas in 1982 and moved to Georgia with her family in 1995. She graduated in 2000 from East Paulding High School with aspirations of “growing-up” and becoming an FBI Detective someday. For six years, she worked at the Law Offices of Vinson, Talley, Richardson, & Cable as a co-op student and then as a full time employee after graduation. Her dream of Law Enforcement began to take shape in early 2005 when she joined the Kennesaw Police and began the Academy in mid-2005.
dog pic.jpgShe was never married and did not have children, but she was the “single-parent” of her Yellow Lab “Daisy”. She spoiled “Daisy” with designer collars, lots of love, many toys, car rides, hamburgers at Sonic, and hours of walks along the Silver Comet Trail. They walked, they played, and they enjoyed the days together.
Tara will always be remembered for her strength and loyalty to friendships, her blatantly open honesty, and a smile that was contagious for everyone around. Love Never Ends; It Just Changes Shape.

The BUTTERFLY

Tara loved life and lived it to it’s fullest. She was a such a “free-spirit” that her body could not contain her. Tara reminds me of a Butterfly.

First, a Butterfly is one of God’s most beautiful creatures, as is Tara;

Second, a Butterfly is marvelously graceful, as is Tara;

Next, a Butterfly does it’s job while never really bothering anyone, as does Tara;

A Butterfly seemingly has no predetermined course or destination, they are just going from place to place sharing their beauty while doing their job, as does Tara;

A Butterfly always just seems to be enjoying life while we watch anxiously, as does Tara;

Finally, as Fall and Winter approach, a Butterfly never seems to live long enough and they vanish, as did Tara;

But, we will always remember the Butterfly in all of it’s beauty and splendor, as we will Tara;

Each time you see the Butterfly in all of it’s beauty, remember the beauty of Tara.

The Tara Drummond Memorial Park:
a pet stop along the Silver Comet Trail

The Park is proposed at the new trailhead at Hwy278 & Seaboard Rd. ½ mile West of the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce. It will provide the community with a place for Friends and Pets to gather, play, rest, and to remember Tara. A non-profit organization has been established to provide funding and coordination to allow this project to become reality.
