Community Theater

The City of Kennesaw Parks & Recreation Department is committed to offering quality community theater experiences for participants and audiences. All performances are held in the banquet hall at the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive.

Robin Hood rediscovered the delightful story of the legendary outlaw from Sherwood Forest who led a band known as the Merry Men to "steal from the rich and give to the poor." Written by Tim Kelly, this adaptation Robin Hood featured favorite characters including Little John (his chief archer), Friar Tuck, Maid Marion (his beloved), Little John, and the sheriff of Nottingham (his chief enemy); and was produced in special arrangement with The Kennesaw Flying Pigs Theatre Group.

Dorothy Gale, like so many girls her age, dreams of what lies over the rainbow. One day a twister hits her farm and carries her away to a magical world. Join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion and Toto as they journey to the land of Oz. This production was based on one of the most popular books ever written in American children's literature, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, by L. Frank Baum, and was produced in special arrangement with The Kennesaw Flying Pigs Theatre Group.
