KENNESAW, Ga. (June 17, 2026) — The City Manager’s Office is accepting applications for the next class of Kennesaw 101: Citizens’ Leadership Academy, a multiweek course designed to offer residents and local workers a behind-the-scenes look at how the City of Kennesaw operates.
The program will run from Sept. 10 through Nov. 17, 2026, with classes held every Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Participants will hear directly from department heads, tour city facilities and engage in interactive sessions focused on the structure, services and decision-making processes of local government.
Open to individuals 18 years and older who live or work within Kennesaw city limits, the course aims to build knowledge, foster engagement and inspire leadership. The experience concludes with a graduation ceremony during the Nov. 16 Mayor and Council meeting.
Registration is free, and the application deadline is July 17, 2026. Participation is limited to approximately 15 individuals.
“We’re excited to connect residents and stakeholders more directly with the work of their local government,” said City Manager Dr. Jeff Drobney. “This program helps build understanding and empowers participants to play an active role in shaping their community.”
