The City of Kennesaw Cemetery is located at 3000 Cemetery Street, on the southwest edge of downtown. The site sits on the historic grounds of Camp McDonald, a former Civil War training area for Georgia volunteers.
Owned and operated by the City of Kennesaw, the cemetery is non-sectarian and has served the community since 1863. Its eight acres are maintained to provide a quiet, respectful setting for those visiting loved ones.
Burial Services
The City Cemetery offers several interment options:
- Single, companion, and family plots
- Ground interment of cremated remains
- Cremation Garden for the scattering of cremated remains
The Cremation Garden serves as a shared memorial space. Individuals whose remains are scattered there are recognized with a memorial plaque on the garden wall.
To schedule an appointment to purchase a lot, please contact the City Clerk’s Office. Allow at least 48 hours’ notice so staff can prepare for your visit.

Important Information
- All burial lots measure 5 feet by 10 feet
- Casket burials require a vault
- Up to four (4) sets of cremated remains may be interred in a single lot
- Cremation containers must not exceed 2 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet
