Kennesaw Grand Prix Race Series Road Closures
Road closures will occur during the Kennesaw Grand Prix Race Series on April 11, June 6, September 19 and October 31.
Main Street will be closed from Watts Drive to Cherokee Street from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The following roads will be closed at Main Street from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.: J.O. Stephenson Avenue, Cherokee Street, Lewis Street, Moon Station Road, Dallas Street, Whitfield Place, Park Drive, Knightsbridge Road, Paulding Street, Jiles Road, Rutledge Road NW and Cathey Lane.
Kennesaw Police will be on site to monitor traffic and allow cross traffic at Knightsbridge Road and Jiles Road while ensuring the safety of runners and walkers.
Concert Series Road Closures
Road closures will occur during the City’s Concert Series on March 28, May 2, August 22 and September 26.
Cherokee Street will be closed from Big Shanty Drive to Main Street from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The Depot Park parking lot will be closed beginning at 6:00 a.m. the Friday before each concert.
Big Shanty Festival Road Closures
Several roads will close for the Big Shanty Festival beginning Friday, April 17 at 6:00 p.m. through Sunday, April 19 at 9:00 p.m.
The following roads will be closed during that time: J.O. Stephenson Avenue from Main Street to Dallas Street, Cherokee Street from Main Street to Shirley Drive/Big Shanty Drive, Watts Drive from Dallas Street to Main Street and Lewis Street from Dallas Street to Main Street.
Main Street from Summers Street to Moon Station Road will close beginning Saturday, April 18 at 5:00 a.m. and reopen Sunday, April 19 at 9:00 p.m.
Salute to America Road Closures
Road closures will occur on Friday, July 3 during the Salute to America celebration.
The following roads will be closed from 11:00 a.m. to midnight: Main Street from Lewis Street to Summers Street, Cherokee Street from Big Shanty Drive to Main Street, J.O. Stephenson Avenue from Main Street to Dallas Street and Watts Drive from Main Street to Dallas Street.
Shirley Drive from Cherokee Street to Carruth Street will be closed from 3:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The parking lots at Tunnel Plaza and Main Street Eats will be closed from 11:00 a.m. to midnight.
The Depot Park parking lot will close at 6:00 a.m. on July 2 and the City Hall parking lot will close at 5:00 p.m. on July 3.
Bridge Closure Notice
Bridge B5, located just north of Deerfield Park, will be closed to foot traffic while our maintenance team completes necessary repairs.
This temporary closure allows us to ensure the bridge remains safe and accessible for all hikers and trail users. Trail sections surrounding the bridge will remain open and barricades and signage are posted at both approaches.
We appreciate everyone’s patience as we complete this important necessary work.
Kennesaw Station Park Closed
Sanitation Holiday Schedule
Trash collection will be interrupted for the following six holidays only: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. For Monday holidays, trash/recycle routes during the entire week following these holidays will be picked up one day later. For holidays that fall midweek, collections on the days of that week after the holiday will be delayed until the next day (for example, if the holiday is Tuesday, the Tuesday routes are picked up on Wednesday, Wednesday picked up on Thursday, etc., for the remainder of the week). If any of these six holidays fall on a weekend, there will be no change in the collection schedule.
