Join Mayor Derek Easterling for Community Bike Ride at “Wheels Up!” Event

City of Kennesaw Mayor, Derek Easterling, will lead two community bike rides for “Wheels Up!” on Saturday, October 12th at 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. at Aviation Park. Georgia Commute Options has collaborated with the Town Center Community Alliance, the non-profit partner of the Town Center Community Improvement District, the City of Kennesaw, REI Kennesaw and Kennesaw State University’s Nature Bound outdoor recreation program to present this free community event as part of The Atlanta Bike Challenge: Biketober.

“I am excited to partner with the Town Center CID and Georgia Commute Options for the “Wheels Up” event as part of The Atlanta Bike Challenge: Biketober,” said Kennesaw Mayor Derek Easterling. “Our area is home to a multitude of outstanding places to ride a bicycle. In the Kennesaw and Metro Atlanta area, there are more than 397 miles of trails. Come explore some of the Noonday Creek Trail with me for a short, but fun bicycle ride on Saturday, October 12.”

All are welcome to come take a leisurely ride on the Noonday Creek Trail. Participants may bring their own bike or riders 18 years old and over can hop on a Zagster, part of the Town Center bike share, which is always free for the first hour. The event will also feature bike safety lessons and a pop up bike shop (with free tune-ups). Cyclists are encouraged to bring their own helmet.
