Forest Bathing

November 18 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Forest Bathing is an experience of relating to the natural world through our senses, inviting our awareness into the present moment, and awakening to a deeper connection with Nature.

Unlike a hike, birding walk, plant identification, or nature walk, “forest bathing” (known as Shinrin-Yoku) is an interactive, sensory, reciprocal experience, offering an opportunity to enrich our relationship with the elements, ourselves, and others.

A “forest bathing” experience at Smith-Gilbert Gardens, offers you a delightful opportunity to experience the gardens differently, via your amazing senses, creating a one-of-a-kind experience. Letting go of expectations, outcomes, or any goals, this profound experience can teach you how to live in the moment, slow down, decompress, learning to navigate life more easily and healthfully.

During this experiential 90 minutes, we will engage in individual wandering, professionally facilitated group gathering & sharing, mindful rest, while honoring everyone’s participation with respectful silence.

In this refreshing, restorative, sensory soak, there’s no need for soap, water, or a towel! Mother Nature will provide all that you need!

Forest Bathing is free with admission but pre-registration is required.
