The Kennesaw Parks and Recreation Department and the Kennesaw City Council are pleased to announce the upcoming Kennesaw Park Facilities Master Plan Update meeting on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ben Robertson Community Center, located at 2753 Watts Dr NW.
This initiative is based on three, philosophical principles:
1. Parks are an essential community service and contribute to personal, social, environmental and economic benefits that foster individual health and community well-being.
2. Effective park planning engages people from all diversities across the community, strengthens community connections and creates a shared vision that aspires to achieving benefits through recreation. Park planning is a process that determines priorities, sets a course of action, and empowers residents to make decisions about and be involved in delivering the park and recreation experiences they most value.
3. This critical analysis will serve as a road map for future capital improvements, but more importantly, serve as a tool for improving the quality of life for Kennesaw’s residents and business community. Over the next few months the leadership of the Kennesaw Parks and Recreation staff will conduct a series of public meetings starting on Thursday, August 29, 2019, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Ben Robertson Community Center located at Adams Park (2753 Watts Drive, Kennesaw, GA 30144).
The City will also incorporate other means of gathering community. Parks & Recreation will consolidate all the information gathered, resulting in a final plan to be presented this Fall.
