The City of Kennesaw's Independence Day celebration of freedom, music and fireworks is one of the biggest and best in North Georgia! Salute to America will feature two stages of live music, festive street entertainment, food vendors and plenty of family-friendly activities.

Kid's Parade

Families in the community are invited to participate in Kennesaw Parks & Rec’s Kid’s Parade! This year, the parade will take place at Noon. Participants will meet at Commemorative Park and will walk down Main Street, ending behind City Hall.

Parade participants are welcome to dress up and decorate their strollers, wagons or bicycles with a red, white and blue theme. Please no motorized vehicles. Parents must accompany their children for the entirety of the parade.

6:00 PM – 7:15 PM: School of Rock East Cobb House Band

The School of Rock East Cobb is known throughout Georgia as an incubator for incredible musicians. The "House Band" is comprised of the most talented musicians from the school, and as you would expect, THEY REALLY ROCK! Wowing crowds at every mind-blowing show, the band performs classics from some of the greats including Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Tom Petty, The Who, Queen, Black Sabbath and many others.

7:30 PM – 9:30 PM: Band X

Make no mistake, this is "in your face" interactive party music!

Formed in early 1996 with top musicians and singers from around the country, Band X is THE premier party band based in Atlanta delivering powerful, dynamic renditions of '60s soul, '70s disco, '80s retro, '90s dance classics, and the hottest pop tunes of today. Variety in both instrumentation (from sexy sax to screaming guitar) and vocals (from the Stones to Madonna and everything in between) sets this band apart from the average cover band.

Band X performs weekly to capacity crowds at clubs, weddings, festivals, private events, corporate parties, conventions and special events -- and every performance is quite an evening of entertainment. No two shows are ever alike, and audience participation is a must! Band X combines virtuosity and showmanship while leaving a lasting impression so positive that you'll want to see them again and again.


Main Street Stage

6:00 PM – 7:15 PM: Woody Earwood

Woody Earwood is a singer/songwriter and producer from Cartersville, GA. He takes influence from country music, folk, and even some rock. Woody has released a fully self-produced record on Jan 8th, 2021 and has been working on another record almost full time since then.

7:30 PM – 9:30 PM: Paul Hand Band

The Paul Hand Band is a live rock & pop group. Their music consists of 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s cover songs, something for everyone. Paul Hand is the leader and originator of the band and has been performing in the metro Atlanta area for over 20 years. Paul entertains with his rockin, vocals, guitar and piano. Backing Paul up is, Nick Atenhan on lead and rhythm guitar, Blake Atenhan on drums and Miles Russell on bass. You will also find Ashely Henderson’s vocal contribution from time to time allowing the band to cover just about anything, making The Paul Hand Band a must see.

Fireworks begin at 9:30 PM

The evening will conclude with a brilliant fireworks finale, visible from Depot Park and along Main Street from Summers Street to Dallas Street. In the event of inclement weather, the fireworks will be re-scheduled.

The City of Kennesaw’s Salute to America event will take place in Historic Downtown Kennesaw.

Public parking will NOT be available at Depot Park for this event. FREE public parking will be available at the following locations:

  • Adams Park & the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive
  • Along Lewis Street, between North Main Street & Dallas Street

Handicap ONLY parking is available in the lot at the intersection of North Main Street & Moon Station Road

    Kennesaw Parks & Recreation is committed to producing a quality event for attendees with a unique assortment of exhibitors. If you are interested in becoming a vendor at the City of Kennesaw’s 2021 Independence Day celebration, Salute to America, please view the following before completing the Vendor Application:

  • THE EVENT IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT. No refunds will be issued due to inclement weather, due to the forecast of inclement weather or due to circumstances beyond our control.
  • ALL FOOD & BEVERAGE VENDORS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A CERTIFICATE OF LIABILITY INSURANCE in the amount of $1,000,000 naming the “City of Kennesaw” as an additional insured.
  • Submission of a Vendor Application does not guarantee event participation. Vendors will receive confirmation of acceptance via email.
  • Fees listed on the Vendor Application are for a 10’x10′ booth space.
  • Vendors must provide their own power, tent, table and chairs.
  • Vendors will be expected to comply with all rules and procedures provided by event organizers.

  • DO NOT COMPLETE A VENDOR APPLICATION IF YOU ARE PROMOTING OR SELLING A SERVICE, or if you wish to demonstrate a product and/or do not have merchandise for sale on-site during the event. If you meet these criteria, booth space is available through sponsorship packages starting at $1,000. Please refer to the Sponsorship Application for details.
