KENNESAW, Ga. (August 6, 2026) — Smith-Gilbert Gardens is set to host its annual fundraising event — Harvest Gathering: A Garden-to-Table Dining Experience — on Sunday, Oct. 4, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy a specially curated three-course dinner by Taylor Lairsey of 1885 Grill with wine pairings from Tiger Mountain Vineyards.
All proceeds from Harvest Gathering benefit the Smith-Gilbert Gardens Foundation in support of horticultural and educational programming. The foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, works in a public-private partnership with the city of Kennesaw to maintain the Gardens’ collections, support growth and connect children to nature and art. Garden staff will also host informational booths with opportunities for guests to contribute further to the mission.
A limited number of patron and VIP tickets are available. These tickets include early access to the Gardens with charcuterie and a beverage of choice, and a private garden tour led by Executive Director Dave Simpson and Garden Manager Hanna Young.
This year’s Harvest Gathering will feature a Bourbon & Wine Pull fundraiser. With each $25 contribution, participants will have the opportunity to select from mystery bags that include a bottle of wine or liquor valued from $25 to more than $100.
The Harvest Gathering menu features a winter-mix salad with mulled-wine-poached pears, goat cheese, candied pecans and a champagne vinaigrette; a family-style entree of beef filet with broccoli rabe and roasted colored potatoes; and shortbread with poached apple, bourbon whipped cream and a bourbon drizzle. Each course will include a curated wine pairing. A cash bar will be available for additional beverages.
Tickets are $135 for general admission and $160 for VIP. A sponsorship package is available for $250. An early-bird discounted rate for general admission runs through Aug. 29.
Attire for the event is autumnal casual elegance. The rain-or-shine, outdoor event has limited seating, and there are no refunds.
