Most of the time 911 knows where you are calling from however there are situations where this may not be true.

• Landline phones—Yes we know where you are as long as phone company has up to date information
• Cell phones—Sometimes—technology sends your call to the 911 center based on the longitude and latitude of your cell phone. The 911 operator will try to verify your location verbally with you to make sure responders are sent to the correct location.
